We also store the following additional data:

  • Telephone number(s) (if provided)

  • Social media profile(s) (LinkedIn/XING, if provided)

We will only process the data provided to us for the purposes covered by your consent or otherwise included in a provision in accordance with the GDPR. We store the data in our CRM system and use it, on the basis of justifiable interest, to send you information about our company, products and innovations, as well as invitations to interesting events.

3. Data retention

We will not retain data for longer than is necessary to fulfill our contractual or legal obligations and to avoid any possible liability claims. Data for marketing and promotional purposes will be retained until we receive a notice of revocation of the consent previously provided.

4. Data security

We use appropriate organizational and technical precautions to protect your personal data. These precautions specifically include protections against unauthorized, unlawful or accidental access, processing, loss, use and manipulation.
Notwithstanding our efforts to maintain a consistently high level of due diligence, it cannot be ruled out that information you provide to us over the Internet will be viewed and used by others.

5. Recipients of the data

Your personal data, including your name, address, telephone number, company, company position, and email address will occasionally be transmitted to contracted processors with which MYLES has concluded a specific processing agreement.

6. Privacy policy for the use of Google Analytics

This website uses functions included in Google Analytics web analytics services. The service provider is Google Inc. 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway Mountain View, CA 94043, USA. Google Analytics uses “cookies”. Cookies are text files that are stored on your computer and that allow analysis of your use of the website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is usually transmitted to a Google server in the USA and stored there.

Google uses this information on our behalf to evaluate your use of the website, to compile reports on website activity and to provide other services related to website activity and Internet usage to the website operator. During this processing, pseudonymous usage profiles of users can be created from the processed data.

We only use Google Analytics with IP anonymization activated. This means that the user’s IP address is shortened by Google within European Union Member States or in other States included in the Agreement on the European Economic Area. Only in exceptional cases is the full IP address sent to a Google server in the USA and shortened there. The IP address provided from your browser by Google Analytics is not merged with other Google data.

You can prevent storage of cookies by changing the settings in your browser software. You can also prevent the collection by Google of cookie-generated and website-related data and the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plug-in available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=de

You can prevent the collection by Google Analytics by clicking on the following link. An opt-out cookie will be set that will prevent the future collection of your data when you visit this website. Deactivate Google Analytics

7. Newsletter and consents

The following information will tell you about the contents of our newsletter, the registration, distribution and statistical evaluation procedures used, and your right of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to its receipt and the procedures described.

Content

The following information will tell you about the contents of our newsletter, the registration, distribution and statistical evaluation procedures used, and your right of objection. By subscribing to our newsletter, you agree to its receipt and the procedures described.

Double-Opt-In and logging

Registration for our newsletter is done using a double opt-in procedure. This means that after you register, you will receive an email requesting that you confirm your registration. This confirmation is necessary to prevent anyone from registering with email addresses that do not belong to them. Your registration for the newsletter is logged for proof of the registration process according to the legal requirements. This includes storage of the login and confirmation time, as well as the IP address. Changes to your data stored with MailChimp are also logged.

Use of the distribution service provider “MailChimp”

The newsletter is distributed by MailChimp, a newsletter distribution platform owned by the US service provider Rocket Science Group, LLC, 675 Ponce De Leon Ave NE #5000, Atlanta, GA 30308, USA.

The email addresses of our newsletter recipients, as well as their other data as described in these notes, are stored on MailChimp’s servers in the USA. MailChimp uses this information to distribute and evaluate the newsletters on our behalf. Furthermore, MailChimp may, according to its own information, use this data to optimize or improve its own services, e.g. for technical optimization of the distribution and presentation of the newsletter or for business purposes, to determine from which countries the recipients come. However, MailChimp does not use the data of our newsletter recipients to contact them directly or to pass the data on to third parties.

We rely on the reliability, IT and data security provided by MailChimp. MailChimp is certified under the US-EU “Privacy Shield” Privacy Agreement and therefore commits to comply with EU data protection requirements. In addition, we have concluded a data processing agreement with MailChimp. This is a contract in which MailChimp pledges to protect the data of our users, to process it in accordance with its privacy policy on our behalf and, in particular, not to disclose it to third parties. You can see MailChimp’s privacy policy here.

Registration data

To register for the newsletter, you only need to provide your email address and name. This information is only used for personalization of the newsletter and we store the data in our CRM system. We also ask that you provide additional data on an optional basis. We only use this information to adapt the content of the newsletter to the interests of our readers.

Statistical surveys and analyses

The newsletters contain a “web beacon,” which is a one pixel-sized file that is accessed by the MailChimp server when the newsletter is opened. During this access, technical information is first collected, such as information about the browser and your system, as well as your IP address and the access time. This information is used to improve the technical performance of services based on technical data or target audiences and their reading habits, which are based on their access locations (which can be determined using the IP address) or access times.

Statistical surveys also include a technical feature to determine whether the newsletters are opened, when they are opened and which links are clicked. For technical reasons, this information can be assigned to the individual newsletter recipients. However, neither we nor MailChimp want to observe individual users. The evaluations are instead focused on helping us recognize the reading habits of our users and to adapt our content to them or to send different content according to the interests of our users.

Online access and data management

We occasionally direct newsletter recipients to the MailChimp website. For example, our newsletters contain a link that allows newsletter recipients to access newsletters online (for example, in case there are display problems with the email program). In addition, newsletter recipients can correct their data, such as their email address, later. Also, MailChimp’s Privacy Policy can only be accessed on their website.

In this regard, we would like to point out that cookies are used on MailChimp’s website, which means that personal data is processed by MailChimp, their partners and the service providers they use (for example, Google Analytics). We have no influence on this data collection. You can find more information in the MailChimp Privacy Policy. We would also like to point out that there are options to reject data collection for advertising purposes on these websites: https://www.aboutads.info/choices/ and https://www.youronlinechoices.com/ (for the European area).

Cancellation/Revocation

You can cancel (i.e. revoke your consent to) the receipt of our newsletter at any time. This will also revoke your consent to MailChimp sending it to you and the statistical analyses will also automatically stop. A separate revocation of the newsletter distribution to you by MailChimp and the statistical evaluation is unfortunately not possible. You can find a link to cancel the newsletter at the end of each newsletter.

Legal basis for the General Data Protection Regulation

In accordance with the provisions of the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), which went into effect on May 25, 2018, we would like to inform you that the consents to the sending of email addresses are based on Art. 6 (1) letter A and Art. 7 GDPR. The use of the mail service provider MailChimp to carry out statistical surveys and analyses and to log the registration process is based on our legitimate interests in accordance with. Art. 6 (1) letter f GDPR. Our interests are focused on using a user-friendly and secure newsletter system that serves both our business interests and the expectations of our users.

We would also like to point out that you can reject further processing of your personal data at any time in accordance with the statutory provisions of Art. 21 GDPR. You can specifically reject processing for direct marketing purposes.

8. Use of the lead generation tools Leadfeeder and LinkedIn Lead Generation

Generating high quality leads is a fundamental task in the acquisition of new customers. Address data of potential interested persons can be generated online and offline for specific target groups and our legitimate interest in data processing according to Article 6 (1) Letter f GDPR focuses on these purposes. We use the Leadfeeder service operated by Liidio Oy, Mikonkatu 17, 0100 Helsinki, Finland. This service uses Google Analytics data to recognize company visitors. Leadfeeder accesses the list of IP addresses of website visitors provided by Google Analytics in the evaluation and links the list of IP addresses to information about the companies that can be found on the Internet at these IP addresses. Because website visitors’ IP addresses are already shortened in the use of Google Analytics, no direct personal reference is made. A reference to a person can be assumed when reviewing the linked company information. Leadfeeder’s Privacy Policy can be found at https://www.leadfeeder.com/privacy/

We use the “LinkedIn Lead Generation” service as another lead generation tool. LinkedIn uses forms to generate leads, which means that functions and content of the LinkedIn service, offered by LinkedIn AG, Dammtorstrasse 29-32, 20354 Hamburg, Germany, can be integrated. If the users are members of the LinkedIn platform, LinkedIn can assign the above-mentioned content and functions to the profiles of the users there. LinkedIn is certified under the Privacy Shield Agreement and therefore offers a guarantee of compliance with the European Data Protection Law. In this context, we also use Lead Generation Tools from LinkedIn. https://www.privacyshield.gov/participant?id=a2zt0000000L0UZAA0&status=Active

Opt out: https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out. LinkedIn’s Privacy Policy can be found at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy or https://business.linkedin.com/de-de/marketing-solutions/native-advertising/lead-gen-ads.

These tools are used for marketing purposes. Our legitimate interest in data processing focuses on these purposes, in accordance with Art. 6 (1) Letter f GDPR.

9. Use of Zoom

MYLES Innovation GmbH uses the “Zoom” service for the purpose of location-independent communication for professional purposes between Edizon employees and with third parties.
The service provider Zoom Video Communications, Inc, which works for MYLES as a processor, processes traffic and usage data to fulfill contractual obligations towards the responsible persons, in particular to ensure the functionality of the services and to compile usage statistics. Zoom Video Communications, Inc’s Privacy Policy can be found here: https://zoom.us/de-de/privacy.html

We do not analyze the IP addresses of participants.

11. Contact form

If you send us inquiries via the contact form, we will store your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, in order to process the request and in case of follow-up questions. Our website partly uses cookies. Cookies do not harm your computer and do not contain viruses. Cookies serve to make our website content more user-friendly, effective and secure. Cookies are small text files that are placed on your computer and stored by your browser.
Most of the cookies we use are “session cookies”. They are automatically deleted after your visit. Other cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them. These cookies allow us to recognize your browser the next time you visit our website.

If the data processing is based on your consent, you may revoke your consent to data processing at any time in writing (email is sufficient) by sending an email to office@myles-innovation.com. A revocation has no effect on the legality of the data processing that was carried out on the basis of the consent up to the time of the revocation.

15. Sociale plugins

The website contains social plugins (“plugins”) from the following social networks:

When you visit a website that includes one of these plugins, your browser connects directly to the LinkedIn, Xing, YouTube, and Meetup servers. The content of the plugin is transmitted by the respective provider directly to your browser and incorporated by it into the website. By integrating the plugins, the providers receive the information that you have accessed the corresponding page of our website, even if you have no profile on the respective social networks or are currently not logged in with your profile.
If you are logged in to one of the social networks, the provider can assign the visit to our website to your profile on the respective social networks. In case of interactions with the plugins, e.g. if you click on the “Like” button, the corresponding information is also transmitted directly to a server of the social network provider and stored there. In addition, the information in the social network will be published on your account and displayed there in your contacts.

16. Linking to other websites

Our website also contains links to other websites. However, the privacy policy described here does not apply to these websites. We therefore ask you to visit these websites directly in order to obtain the privacy information for the respective websites there. MYLES cannot be held liable for any action taken on these websites or for their content.

17. Revocation of advertising emails

The use of published contact information from the required imprint or comparable information, such as mailing addresses, telephone and fax numbers and email addresses for sending unsolicited advertising and information materials is hereby prohibited. The operators of the website expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of the unsolicited sending of advertising information, for example through spam emails.
